The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission approved new fishing regulations for 2016, and they will become effective March 1.

Foremost among the new regulations is the statewide requirement for a guide license for individuals or businesses who accept compensation for providing assistance in any act of hunting, fishing or trapping in Tennessee. The guides and their customers are also required to possess all other required licenses and permits.

The new guide license is $151 (Type 450) for resident guides and $651 (Type 455) for non-resident guides. The license can be purchased at any licensing agent.
