WATTS BAR LOCK
TENNESSEE RIVER MILE 529.9
The Tennessee Valley Authority has advise the Corps of Engineers of the need to
extend current maintenance operations at Watts Bar Lock, Tennessee River Mile 529.9,
from 1 APR 2017 to 30 November 2017.
TVA will need to place oxygen line marker buoys in the channel from approximately
TRM 532.0 – 535.0. TVA has worked and will continue to work diligently to ensure that
these marker buoys do not impede commercial navigation traffic, but as the work
progresses up river the buoys will end up shifting from one side of the river to the other
over the duration of the job. These buoys will have strobe lights on them for boaters at
night as well.
