Clean Boating Day
on Watts Bar Reservoir
Watts Bar Lake Association (WBLA) is planning a Clean Boating Day on Watts Bar Reservoir on Saturday, June 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Members are needed to man boat ramps to supply clean boating information and safety inspections if the boaters wish to participate. Free boat safety inspections will be offered at as many ramps as we have members to man. America’s Boating Club (formerly known as Power Squadron) has agreed to provide the inspections. WBLA will provide safety equipment as needed as long as supplies last, such as life jackets, fire extinguishers or boat cushions. The safety inspection is free and only for the boater’s information. No citations will be issued. Anyone wishing to help by manning a boat ramp is asked to contact Harry Smiley at (803) 640-7870.
