Be on the Look Out For the Aquatic Weeds

“In August of 2015 for the first time in decades the Watts Bar Reservoir began
experiencing aquatic weed infestations. Three (3) invasive aquatic plants began
to take over various shallow coves around the city of Kingston and south
on the Tennessee River. The weeds are Hydrilla, Milfoil and Naiad. These
weeds are not native. While they have some environmental benefits, they can
have negative environmental impacts including boating, fishing, and recreational
long term concerns. ”
