Meigs County is among 29 Tennessee communities to receive a portion of nearly $1 million of state dollars to enhance tourism infrastructure.
Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TDECD) Commissioner Randy Boyd announced last Wednesday the statewide allocation of more than $999,000 in Tourism Enhancement Grants.
State Rep. Dan Howell (R-Georgetown) personally notified Meigs County Mayor Bill James of the $20,000 grant award last Thursday.
